Next DYLOP coming soon..

You may or may not be wondering, if I am going to hold another Design Your Life on Purpose this year.  The good news is yes, 1000% yes!

So why so quiet?

After….

Successful Pilot – Tick!

Great feedback from participants – Tick!

Like these ones:

Fun, thought provoking day that allowed me to consider a major new possibility in my life. And left with a well put together plan for the next 12 months and 3 years

Jan Van der Meer - Executive Recruiter & Coach

Totally recommend. Opens your mind to thinking outside the square and allowing self to dream, develop plans and break it into steps to go forth with.

Trina Bechly - Office Manager & Photographer

I wanted time to think, reflect and determine what it could and should look like.  Unlike every corporate pilot I have been involved in – where it is; pilot and then go immediately following, sometimes slower.  No chance to reflect and update what changes came from the pilot.

I really took the time to think about what this Design your Life on Purpose thing could be and should be, to ensure the best outcome for the pathfinders (collective noun for people designing their life).  I know that I need to give my intuition time to whisper the changes, approach, even words to use.

Going it alone is hard!

I know from personal experience that going it alone is hard work and sometimes you can find it all too much.  I wanted to make sure that the pathfinders had the right support to help them through the full 12 months and not just as a once off event.  I encourage the pathfinders to share their dreams only with people who will support and uplift them and not just anyone.  You need to make sure you have someone who is Incahoots with you and your dreams, it helps enormously.

When I had my double mastectomy and reconstruction, I was asked by very well-meaning family and friends, “If I would I slow down now?”  I love them for the care they were showing me, but I am a way better human if I am doing the things I love.  So, the answer, respectfully was no.  I will not slow down, in fact I will accelerate, as I want to be more than this, this is blip in my life, not my defining feature.

I want my pathfinders to have that same level of unwavering support and encouragement.  Doing something different is hard work, you are pushing against the status quo and that takes effort and a little bit of crazy.  They deserve the same level of conviction and crazy, knowing they have someone totally Incahoots with them.

Those same well-meaning family and friends understand why this is so important to me and are my best advocates and supporters.

Lasting change does not happen after a 1-day event

I have had the pleasure of attending some super powerful events.  Sometimes though 1 month or 2 months later and the power and benefits have started to fade.  It has become easy to slink back into my old habits and ways of being.  I wanted to consider this context within the construct of Design your Life on Purpose thing.

As I know change, I know that change does not happen overnight.  You cannot attend one workshop and suddenly find the way you plan and manage your life has magically changed.  You will experience peaks and troughs and wins and losses, before you get your groove.  I personally have been improving on this for 10 years*. I can provide everyone with the outline and the approach, but support pre and post that one day is what will make the difference and truly create a life that suits them perfectly.

*I realised that I started this journey when I finished a gig at News.  Not the right organisation for me and not the right people to be surrounded with (except my team – they were amazing!).  I decided then, I was going to plan and drive my life the way I wanted it and my experimentation began.

Plus, I had some fun!

I spent a lovely Easter in Orange with my dear friend and had dinner with other friends I had neglected.  I took my Mum to the Bathurst show.  You know, fun life things.

Interested in the next DYLOP?

I am finalising the approach and details at the moment, hence the post.  If you missed the last one and are itching to come along to the next one, send me your best dates.
